Brand image effect on sales & profits

  • Company acquired a line of products from another company. The acquiring organization originally planned to set up the acquired products as the parent brand with the existing products as line extensions. The first step was a research project in which the existing brand name was favored considerably over the acquired brand.

  • With these results the products remained under the existing brand with an added initial marketing effort. In two years the expanded line exhibited a 30% annual sales increase.

Contributions to the new product effort

  • Company management was dissatisfied with the new product operation. I developed a new product model, multi-phase program to accomplish several key objectives.

  • The objectives and subsequent accomplishments can be summarized as producing additional planned sales and profitable new products.

Strengthening management relationships

  • There are a substantial number of marketing terms and activities that are not fully understood by other discipline management. I discussed this situation with the CEO who agreed to a series of clarification meetings which produced positive results in a number of ways.

  • In addition, less formal approaches than outlined above, have also resulted in improvements in interdisciplinary relationships and bottom line results.
